Australia has a dedicated health insurance system for international students known as Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). This cover is mandatory for the entire duration of enrollment and is a requirement for obtaining a Student Visa (Subclass 500).
OSHC helps cover:
Medical and hospital care while studying in Australia
Emergency ambulance services
A portion of prescription medicine costs
Note: OSHC does not cover dental, optical (eye care), or physiotherapy services. Students who require these should consider purchasing additional private health cover.
The OSHC can be purchased directly from your education provider, or we can help you access competitive rates from approved insurers so you can choose the option that best suits your needs and budget.
